Local Service Areas

I’m a Hutt Valley local, and I work locally across the Hutt Valley, Wainuiomata, Eastbourne, and over in the northern Wellington suburbs from Newlands to Tawa, and Porirua. So wherever you live in the region, you get the same person, the free safety check, and the on-time service.

A Chimney Magic customer shared a photo of their wood burner after it's chimney sweep service.

Lower Hutt

Lower Hutt is Chimney Magic HQ. I’ve been sweeping chimneys, repairing and servicing wood burners across Hutt City for over 25 years. I have a wood burner at home, and like most of my customers, the wood burner is the main heat source, so it really needs a yearly sweep to keep the fire safe, efficient and ready for the next season.

A regular sweep and safety check keeps small problems, like worn seals or a struggling draw, from turning into bigger ones.

It gets cold in Wainuiomata, so wood burners get used a lot, and if the flue is not swept regularly it can lead to a chimney fire. I conduct a free safety check and give you a safety report with every chimney sweep to give you peace of mind.

If you live along the coast in Petone or Eastbourne the salt air is hard on flues and fittings over time. The most common problem I see is flue’s rusting, and it’s important you have a stainless steel flue to last by the sea.

Suburbs I cover: Lower Hutt, Petone, Waterloo, Waiwhetu, Naenae, Taita, Wainuiomata, Stokes Valley, Avalon, Epuni, Woburn, Alicetown, Korokoro, Horokiwi, Moera, Belmont, Eastbourne and everywhere in between.

Upper Hutt

Upper Hutt gets cold further in the valley, and areas like Trentham and Silverstream, and lifestyle blocks out toward Totara Park and Te Marua are where a wood burner is essential to stay warm.

The colder it gets, the harder your wood burner works, so a clean flue that burns hotter and uses less wood really pays off, and it keeps your home safe from chimney fires through the depths of winter.

Suburbs I cover: Trentham, Silverstream, Totara Park, Heretaunga, Pinehaven, Wallaceville, Te Marua, Brown Owl and Maoribank.

Northern Wellington Suburbs

I have plenty of regular customers in Newlands and Johnsonville in Wellington’s northern suburbs since many homes here run a wood burner through winter. The northern suburbs get cold and damp once winter sets in, and a well-maintained wood burner is the difference between a warm home and a struggle.

Remember the chimney sweep with a free safety check is a warrant-of-fitness-type service for the wood burner. I’ll get it clean, check it over, and tell you if anything needs attention.

Suburbs I cover: Newlands, Paparangi, Woodridge, Grenada Village, Grenada North, Johnsonville, Tawa, Churton Park, Broadmeadows, Khandallah, Ngaio and Glenside.

Porirua

Wood burners are a popular heating choice across Porirua region, and I keep them running well. Coastal suburbs like Titahi Bay or Plimmerton get their share of salt, which leads to rusting flues and fittings. These need to be stainless steel to cope with the salty seaside air.

A regular sweep and safety check keeps your wood burner efficient and safe and I complete the safety check before I start.

Suburbs I cover: Porirua, Whitby, Aotea, Papakowhai, Plimmerton, Titahi Bay, Cannons Creek, Ranui, Elsdon and Camborne.

What I do, wherever you are

In every area it’s the same three services and the same standard of care: chimney sweeping and a free safety check, wood burner repairs and servicing for all makes and models, and pre-purchase and pre-sale safety inspections. You deal with me, Alan Campbell, from start to finish.

I turn up when I say I will, I cover your floors, complete the safety check and advise if any repairs are needed before I start the sweep. I leave no mess, and pack everything away in my van when I am finished. You pay by EFTPOS once I am done, then I text you next year when your service is due. After servicing over 30,000 chimneys, there’s not much I haven’t seen.

Not sure if you’re in my area? Give me a call on 0274 318 675 and I’ll let you know.
